Choose The Right Automotive Wheels For Your Car

There are so many different kinds of automotive wheels present in the market. Therefore, it is actually a difficult task to differentiate the good ones from the bad ones. Alloy wheels are one of the most popular options chosen by most of the car owners. But, what is that special feature which makes them so popular? Are they really better than the other automotive wheels?

Learn The Great Features Of Alloy Wheels

Just like any other product or service, it always depends on the buyers to decide whether alloy wheels are the best option. Aluminum is one of the main components used in the manufacturing process of alloy wheels.

Have a look at the following features which make these wheels a popular choice among people:-

• It is light in weight.

• It is rigid

• It is very effective when it comes to heat dissipation.

• It doesn't incur damages easily.

Steel or Alloy Wheels: Which Is A Better Option?

When compared to steel, alloy is definitely a better option because it helps in heat dissipation and let you enjoy a smooth drive. This is beneficial because it extends the life span of the wheels. The brake usually builds up a lot of heat and it's important to reduce heat which is only possible with alloy. This is why steel is not considered as a good option. So, you should keep the features in mind when you are planning to choose any other wheels.

Alloy wheels have a huge demand among all the consumers. They are also available in different sizes which make them a convenient option. Moreover, you can get it at a cheaper price in the different retail outlets. This means you can also save money by shopping around for the best deal. Never ever choose a shop randomly. A little bit of research can help you find the best deal.

Another benefit of choosing alloy wheels is that it helps you to enjoy a safe and smooth drive. Remember, you always need to take good care of the wheels and keep it in a flawless condition with the help of maintenance services. A speed bump or a pothole may easily destroy the soft wheels. So, you should always drive with care and take the right measures so that the wheels don't get damaged.

Wheel theft is not something new to you. In one way or the  other, maybe you have fallen victim at some point and if not you, maybe a  friend. Leaving your car unguarded is something that's unavoidable; in an open  home garage after coming back from a trip or even outside a shop while out for  shopping. Thieves can come at any time. They won't care whether the car is  already in your home compound or outside a restaurant; their mission has to be  accomplished.

So, what do you do to protect your wheels from being  stolen?

There is only one safe way to protect your wheels. This is  by the use of locking lug nuts. The locking lug nuts once installed have a  special key to use to unlock them. This prevents anyone else from dispatching  the wheels from your car apart from you who has the key.

This is how they are  installed

You will require a wheel lock key and a tire iron

If your wheels are fitted with a hub cap, remove it. This  is the first step, but if no hub caps, you can start with step 2.

Using the tire iron, remove one lug nut from each of the  wheels on your car. Keep them in a safe place for later use.

Next, fasten locking lug nuts using your hands, on each  wheel in place of the removed lug nuts.

This is followed by placing the lock key onto the locking  lug nut. Then tighten by the use of the tire iron. Press it inward to ensure  that it is tightly fixed. Make sure you do this on all the wheels.

Take your car for a 25 miles ride and re-tighten the  locking nuts again. This will now ensure that your wheels are locked and safe.  Keep the key safe and always with you when driving.

You see, it's that easy. Within a few minutes you are done.  So, what happens in case you lose your key and need replace the moto metal  wheels? Do not worry, below is the way to go to remove the lock nuts.

Get a hammer, a breaker bar, chisel, large bolt, tig welder  and a1/2 inch socket wrench.

Take the chisel and place its cutting side on top of the  lock nut. Hammer the chisel until the lock nut breaks off. Make sure not to hit  the underneath studs on which the nut is threaded on.

Take the large bolt and place it over the lock nut's end  where it has been chiseled off. Then position the end of the bolt and turn on  the tig welder. Then weld the end of the chiseled- off lock nut together with  the bolt.

Place a sizeable socket wrench over the bolt.

Finally, take the breaker bar and place it through the end  of the wrench. Then turn it anticlockwise. The bar turns and breaks the bolt  off. This in turn takes off the lock nut. Repeat this on all the wheels.

This is an easy way to protect your American racing wheels  and ensure their safety from thieves. The process to remove the locks if the key  is lost is also as simple as you have seen. Lock your wheels. Be safe.
