Chevrolet and General Motors as a whole have long known they do not have a credible offering in the low-priced subcompact segment. There was a time when GM's J-cars (Cavalier, Cimarron, Sunbird, Skyhawk and Firenza) carried the compact car banner for the company, but most of those cars have been discontinued, leaving only the Cavalier and Sunfire, which are now outdated, more expensive and larger than the originals. Compare this to entries from Scion, Hyundai and Kia, which are selling small, affordable cars at around $5,000 less. For years, Chevrolet attempted to fill this gap in its lineup with the Metro, a rebadged Suzuki Swift, available as a hatchback and sedan. But by the turn of the millennium, it was clear that U.S. buyers had little interest in this shoddily built car and its barely roadworthy performance, and the Metro was discontinued. Enter the Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo is the result of GM's recent acquisition of Daewoo Motor Company and is essentially a rebadged Daewoo Kalos, a car already on sale in other markets around the world. Both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback will be offered in three levels of trim, with the least expensive model coming in just under $10,000. Powered by a 103-horsepower, 1.6-liter, DOHC, four-cylinder engine, the Aveo provides adequate power while delivering better-than-average fuel economy. Although the Aveo will be the lowest rung on the Chevy ladder, it still offers an impressive list of amenities. Air conditioning, a CD player, full power accessories and remote keyless entry are all standard equipment on the LS models, and the entry-level Special Value models offer basic amenities like a power steering, an AM/FM radio and a split-folding rear seat. Special appearance packages featuring alloy wheels, foglights and mud guards are also available. The Aveo is a decently equipped car priced to compete with the Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Scion xA and Toyota Echo. What remains to be seen is whether GM can seriously contend for sales in a segment that Hyundai and Kia rule. In terms of pricing, the Aveo meets the competition head-on, but it offers neither the long warranty that Hyundai and Kia buyers expect nor does it carry the bulletproof reputation for reliability of the Toyota and Scion offerings. We recommend that you review your options carefully before spending your money on an Aveo -- you may find that a gently used, larger car like a Honda Civic will serve your needs even better.
We strive to continually bring you the largest selection of custom wheels and discount tires in the
nation at the lowest prices. Not only do we offer award-winning customer service but we also have a
skilled staff of technicians waiting to serve you with your custom wheel purchase. Our warehouses sell
our rims at savings up to 70% off of list prices and 30% less than our retail outlets. You can rest
assured knowing that all wheel and tire package fitments are verified with our technicians before ever
leaving our warehouse. Unless your car has been modified, all fitments are calculated off of the stock
specifications set forth for your vehicle. We use plus-sizing techniques to match up your new wheels
to stay as close to factory stock heights. In laymen\'s terms, you wheel gets bigger and your tire gets
smaller. If you are hesitant about a wheel and tire package purchase, allow us to mount and balance
the set and deliver it to your door ready to be installed onto your vehicle. We use state-of -the-art
hunter mounting and balancing equipment. When mounting we use chrome valve-stems, stick-on weights,
and road-force balancing equipment. We shrink-wrap and package the aftermarket wheels thoroughly for
shipping. All wheels and tires are insured during transit. If you are ordering wheel spinner adaptors,
they are generally shipped separately from the wheel for safety reasons. While we rely on our repeat
business from satisfied customers, we are always looking for new customers to add to our growing wheel
clientele. Do not settle for one of these fly-by-night companies on the internet that will nott be able
to promise what they deliver or provide service to you after the sale because they are no longer around.
We have been around for years and we plan on being around for many more years to serve our customers.
Just give us a call on our toll-free number!!
